SBST is implementing a focused cluster development initiative for pottery artisans to strengthen livelihoods and preserve traditional crafts. Senior officials from the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) visited to identify critical challenges and growth opportunities and guide on key government schemes and welfare programs.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
SBST organized a training program in Pennagaram, Dharmapuri district to empower SC women with Handloom weaving, and Textile skills for Self-Employment and their Placements.

Conducted with TNSDC and Social Welfare Dept. Trained 90 candidates across camps; enabled job opportunities and home-based embroidery businesses.

Live demos on Block Printing, Metal, Bamboo and Terracotta crafts by master artisans; strong impact among students.
TOOL DISTRIBUTION
Distributed Jacquard lifting machines, shuttles, bobbins, pirns, treadles and more with support from Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), enabling higher quality output.
