SBST conducted a special training on Hand Block Printing and Embroidery for 45 SC women in Pennagaram to promote self-employment and preserve traditional skills.
The program aimed to enhance livelihood opportunities, promote entrepreneurship, and uplift income levels by up to 30%, driving inclusive economic growth.
SBST, in collaboration with Erode Eye Foundation, organized a free eye camp for 260 villagers in Vellivalasu to detect and treat vision-related issues.
This initiative supports early detection and timely treatment of eye conditions, improving quality of life and encouraging proactive eye health in rural areas.
SBST served as an Implementing Partner for the Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam (KKT) initiative by TNSDC, delivering advanced training in Tailoring, Weaving, Embroidery, and Traditional Textile Printing across multiple districts. A total of 473 candidates benefitted from January to March 2025.
Each participant received certification, free lunch, ₹500 stipend/day, and business support via DIC, resulting in up to 40% increase in income.
SBST conducted a hands-on workshop at Vivekananda Matric Hr. Sec. School, engaging 60 students in creating handicraft items from textile waste and terracotta. This activity fostered creativity and time management while reducing gadget dependency.

SBST has conducted the Craft Demonstration cum Awareness Program at Nandha Art and Science College, Perundurai, Erode. This program made a good impact among college students in various
crafts like Block Printing, Metal Craft, Bamboo Craft, and Terracotta Craft.
Master artisans from various crafts like Metal Crafts,
Bamboo Crafts, and Block Printing were invited to give live demonstrations of these crafts to students.

SBST has conducted the Guru Shishya Hastshilp Prashikshan Programe (GSHPP) for Handblock Printing at Hosur, Krishnagiri District for 30 artisans in association with Development Commissioner of Handicraft, Ministry of Textiles, Handicraft Service Centre, Salem. This program helps the artisans to know about
the advanced method and techniques used in Block Printing.
It also helps the artisans to improve their way of business approaches and also helps to improve their
livelihood. After successful completion of this training each candidate got the stipend amount from Ministry.
SBST has conducted a Tailoring Training Program on 11.06.2025 in association with Tamilnadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), for women from the Minority community to equip them with skills in Tailoring and Embroidery.
After completion of this training, women from the Minority community will be able to get free sewing machines issued by Government of Tamilnadu. This will help them to start
their own business and also helps them to improve their livelihood. 20 candidates got benefited with this training.
SBST has conducted a Tailoring with Hand Embroidery and Aari-work Training Program in association with Tamilnadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) and Social Welfare Department, Salem for Sri Lankan refugees living in Pappampady village, Pavalathanoor Lower Camp, Pavalathanore Upper Camp of Salem District, Tamilnadu.
Totally 90 candidates were trained with this program.
This program helps the Sri Lankan refugees women to learn about Tailoring and Embroidery. They will also be able to get jobs in garment units using the knowledge
acquired and few women started their own Hand Embroidery business.
SBST has organized an Environmental Awareness Rally near the villages surrounding the Vellode Birds Sanctuary in Erode District on 17.10.2025,
in association with the District Forest Department, Erode and Vivekanantha Matric. Hr. Sec. School, Vellode, Erode District.
The program aimed to educate local residents about the dangers of sound-making crackers, which are extremely harmful to birds. This initiative created a positive impactavoid sound crackers during Diwali and to become more aware of environmental protection, promoting a clean and pollution-free environment.

SBST has distributed Improved Tool Kits to the Handloom Artisans of Erode District, Tamilnadu with the support of Development Commissioner of Handicraft, Ministry of Textiles,
Handicraft Service Centre, Salem on 30.10.2025.
This program helps the selected handloom artisans to get the improved tool kits like Jacquard lifting machines,
Cross beam, Shuttle, Bobbin, Pirn, Treadles, Cloth Roller, Bobbin Stand and Temple.
This helps the weavers to produce high quality products within short period of time.
